Securing Custody. Developing Skills. Fostering Reintegration.
A Federal Institution dedicated to correctional services under the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).

About us
The Etsako Medium Security Custodial Centre is mandated by the Nigerian Correctional Service Act of 2019 to provide secure, rehabilitative, and humane custodial services for inmates in the Edo North Senatorial District and beyond. Our operations focus on transforming the lives of offenders through a holistic approach that respects human rights while strictly maintaining public safety. As a medium-security facility, we prioritize orderly administration, controlled movement, and a disciplined environment conducive to personal change, working closely with the Edo State judiciary and external stakeholders.
As part of the NCoS commitment to reducing recidivism, the Etsako Centre provides comprehensive training programs aimed at equipping inmates with employable skills for life after incarceration. These include educational opportunities to complete basic schooling and vocational training in areas such as agriculture, craft, and other local trades. Our goal is to ensure that individuals leaving our custody possess the mindset, training, and economic potential necessary to successfully reintegrate into society and contribute positively to their communities.
